FAQ
Birth Orbs are small, handheld tools designed to be held and squeezed during labour. They are inspired by acupressure principles and work on the gate control pain theory. They are often used as a focus and point and distraction during contractions.
Some women choose to hold or squeeze the orbs during contractions, while others use them simply as something grounding to hold. You can also have your birth partner roll them in a circular motion on your lower back to provide comfort and relieve. They can be used in any position.
Birth Orbs are non-invasive and used externally. As with all birth supports, listen to your body and stop using them if they don’t feel right for you.
You can use them anytime during your labour, there is no right timing - use them when and if they feel supportive. Most women use them during contractions.
Not at all. You may choose to use one orb, both, or have one in one hand and the Wooden Birth Comb in the other.
After you have finished using, wipe clean with a damp cloth and allow to dry, storing them back in their Cotton drawstring bag.
